Medal Sweep at the National Jujitsu “Open” Competition December 13, 2009

Our Adults Fighting Team took part in the National Jujitsu “Open” Competition on Sunday December 13 and made an impressive medal sweep with a total of 12 medals. We won all fighting matches, loosing to no one, and taking the gold in 5 weight classes.
-Under 62 kg: Gold
-Under 67 kg: Gold, Silver, Bronze
-Under 77 kg: Gold, Silver
-Under 85 kg: Gold, Silver
-94 kg and above: Gold
-Women's Demo Team: Gold
-Men's Demo Team: Silver
-Plus the Gold for the Best Team category.
Also for the first time the Kids were able to join and show their talents in a Demo and Wrestling competition. Thanks to all for their effort and diligent work.

Thai Boxing on San Li TV Tuesday October 27, 09

Tony, accompanied by Arnaud, was invited on the Talk Show 王牌大賤諜之誰來揍我?! to demonstrate Thai Boxing. Hosts are Huang Kuo-Luan and Liang He-Chun. Other invited guests included Xiao Zhong, Shen Yu-Lin and Leena. The topic of the episode: “I was bullied while a kid”.

TMC-01 October 9, 09

TMC held its inaugural Competition at the Taipei Sports Arena. The fights were awesome and elbows on the head were allowed while fighters on the ground, a first for MMA in Taiwan. Our two fighters, Kevin Lin and Hung Ji-Dong did very well. Kevin won by TKO in the first round while Ji-Dong had to bow to a stronger opponent.

TV Show "The Martial Way"

Taiwan's first MMA TV Reality Show will air on Channel Z starting Wednesday September 23rd, at 10 pm. It will be rebroadcast on Saturday at 1:00 pm. This show will run for 13 episodes and features 14 fighters with an elimination fight each week with Master Fares as the Fight Commissioner and the Referee for the show.

Antonio Graceffo, a Martial Arts Globe trotter, travels around the world looking for famous Masters to train with. Last week he visited us in Taipei and trained in our Gym and filmed for his web TV show "The Martial Arts Odyssey".

Host Antonio Graceffo trains with Antoine Fares who runs an MMA program in Taipei, Taiwan. Antonio is impressed with Antoine’s knowledge of striking and his ability to integrate striking and grappling into an effective fighting system. The whole club works together to help two of Antoine’s Taiwanese fighters prepare for an upcoming competition. One Taiwanese fighter, grappler, has incredible strength and refuses to be submitted as he is attacked by student after student.
Antoine runs a great program, putting Antonio through the paces with punching and kicking drills as well as numerous rounds of sparring, both striking and grappling.
Through every evolution of training Antoine gives excellent advice and tutelage.
The third and final installment of the series on Antoine Fares: Antonio Graceffo is extremely impressed by the program, the level of instruction and the thoroughness of the workout and training program. Some of the students have only a few months of training but are already fighting well. In a year, they will be ready for competition.

Belt Promotion June 29, 09

PRO Fighting MMA Competition June 14, 09

Tommy, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Brown Belt Instructor, conducted a BJJ Seminar that covered some basic requirements for a Blue Belt. Admission was free for all members of our Academy.

Tamkung University TV News

Tamkung University TV News visited us on Friday April 3rd, in order to film the Kids Classes. It was a part of a documentary about Master Fares and the promotion of Martial Arts in general and MMA in particular in Taiwan. Tamkung is ranked top 1 private University in Taiwan and is known for its Information Science Department. The Kids showed their good skills on the Ground and Standing and answered the host various questions about Martial Arts.

Belt Promotion March 15, 09

In the Kids and Juniors Classes, Raphael, Rose, Guillaume, Bernard, Dane and Thibaud have been promoted to Yellow Belt.
In the Adults Classes, Damien has been promoted to Orange Belt, Arnaud has been promoted to Yellow Belt and Sybren got his 3rd Stripe on his White Belt. Congratulations to all for their hard work!

Ming Wu 4 MMA Competition March 1, 2009

Arnaud had to step out of Ming Wu 4 due to injury and Mehdi replaced him on the eve of the event without any proper preparations and training. He put up a good fight but lost to a wrestler. Hat off to Mehdi for his courage and determination.

Jujitsu President’s Cup Championship December 14, 20008

Our Team took part in the President’s Cup that was attended by fighters from various Martial Arts School in Taiwan. We took 3 medals (2 Golds and 1 Silver) plus the Gold in the “Best Team” Category.

Muay Thai Seminar December 13, 14, 2008

Rajasak and Tony gave a 2 days high level Seminar to Muay Thai enthusiasts. The training covered all aspects of Muay Thai and ended with free sparring with the Instructors.
